Womens Homeless Statistics For Denmark


Enumeration of homeless people who were in contact with services in one week in 2015. Services included emergency shelters/temporary accommodation, non-custodial care, prisons, detention centres, social service authorities, community homes, treatment homes for addicts, psychiatric clinics, police, outreach activities for homeless persons, voluntary organisations, self-help groups, reception centres and drop-in centres (Benjaminsen and Hesselberg Lauritzen, 2015)


Persons were homeless when: he/she does not have a dwelling or room (owned or rented), sleeps rough, depends on temporary accommodation, or lives temporarily and without a contract with family/friends. People with no place to stay on the following night are also defined as homeless.


2015: 6.138 homeless persons, 1325 (22%) of them women.
